RTM Masonry undertakes the restoration of heritage buildings both large and small, from entire buildings to targeted repairs.

We have restored some of Victoria’s most iconic buildings, including the Fairmont Empress Hotel, The Victoria Paper Box Building, The Leland Building, Fan Tan Alley in Chinatown, The Canoe Club, and areas of Market Square to name a few.
We have undertaken a major seismic upgrade and stone restoration project at the PL James Building where we installed over 11,000 Cintec anchors to attach the Andesite stone panels to the building.
We were also part of the team that restored the Fairmont Empress Hotel over four winter seasons. We repointed and repaired the existing brick and stonework and replaced damaged ornamental stone elements.
Brick Repointing & Targeted Masonry Repairs
Brick repointing involves removing portions of deteriorated mortar and redoing the joints with new mortar to prevent water infiltration and avoid crumbling mortar and bulging bricks. Repointing brick can save walls from collapse, especially with older buildings.
Our targeted masonry repairs and brick repointing work has helped to restore buildings such as the Fairmont Empress Hotel, and many other buildings in Victoria.
